FPSG's client is a global leader in the Financial Services Industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Services professional or Graduate to join the Banking Operations International Tax Utility Team. You will work closely with Business Unit, Tax Risk, Operations and Finance teams globally to ensure that balances are reconciled and inherent risks managed.
In the Tax Utility team you will perform a number of control/operational functions over a variety of withholding taxes generated by trading activities across multiple divisions.
This is a temporary 9 month contract.
Role Responsibilities
As Tax Utility Analyst your responsibilities will include:
- Support of the month end sub ledger account reconciliation process
- Reviewing risk items and tax impacts and drive remediation
- Assist with risk and regulatory reporting requirements
- Support the enhancement of the tax control framework
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of tax related cash breaks
- Identification of timely escalation of risk items to management
- Providing reporting/information to management and key stakeholders
- Ensuring procedures are accurate, relevant and adhered too
Person Specification
As a successful Tax Utility Analyst, you will have:
- An education to Degree level (Finance, Physics, Economics, Risk, Mathematics, Financial Services) or be qualified by experience within Financial Services Operations
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communication clearly and concisely, work under pressure and multitask
- Robust analytical skills, an attention to detail and a keen awareness of risk
- The ability to work either on your own initiative as well as be a solid team player
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Basic awareness of relevant tax concepts – transaction tax, CRS, tax treaty rates and withholding tax
- Basic awareness of the dividend/corporate action process
- Basic awareness of the trade life cycle
