We are looking for a Database Manager for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: TREKKOPJE site, Namibia

Contract Duration: 6 months (April-Sept) – with a flexibility according to campaign progress

Work conditions: 10h shift work (7days/7 24h/24) – day shift

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Grade 12
• Tertiary Level Qualification: Degree or Diploma in computers will be an added advantage
• Good knowledge of database systems, including SQL Server
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Good knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS)
• knowledge of acQuire (GimSuite5) is a plus
• Knowledge of common development languages
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software is a plus.
• Knowledge of geology and mineral exploration would be a plus
• Language: Fluent in English written and spoken

Experience

• 1 to 2 years’ experience working within a similar position.
• Experience with using the relevant computer software e.g. Microsoft Office and other database-related software.
• Experience in Computer Added Design

Key Responsibilities

• This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Planning, maintenance and development of geological databases: drillhole database (GIM Suite solution) and and GIS database (ArcGIS).
• Work with geospatial data in digital and paper formats and specifically coordinate changes and additions to the database, test, and implementation of database management systems.
• Planning, coordination and implementation of security measures to safeguard company information.
• Data processing: Oversee all in-coming data (probing, assay, GPS, drilling, geological logging) on a daily basis to be stored in the correct folders.
• Support users in the use of geological databases interfaces
• Weekly reports and KPI on data integration
• Undertake QAQC on all data to make sure it is correct. Manage the quality control of the data delivered to the company for resource estimates.
• Validate all incoming probe data using Geovista, Microsoft Excel and Well Cad software.
