Manager, Applications  - Technical Operations

The Manager, Applications works closely with the VP of Global Technical Operations IT and other key business decision-makers in identifying and implementing cost-effective application technology solutions for technical operations that includes Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Process Development & Analytical Development. This position provides the strategy, leadership, and day-to-day management of the global technical operations applications.

  • Provides Application advisory services with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production functional leaders, SME's, power users, and third-party vendors to explore improvement opportunity
  • Communicate with various business units to gather project requirements, providing end-to-end application support
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on all technology related deliverables, tasks, activities and development of integration toolsets and practices for manufacturing, quality, and laboratory systems; provide expert guidance to the team on best practices, standardization and documentation; provide guidelines to ensure consistent user experiences
  • Manages the selection, implementation, operation, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of global technical operations applications
  • Work with stakeholders to define business and system requirements for existing and new implementations including the development of User and Functional Requirement Specifications
  • Plans, execute and finalize projects according to timeline and budget
  • Controls and manages production system issues: triage issues; conduct detailed impact analysis, root cause analysis, and downstream effects of modifications; Determine most effective way to operationalize fixes
  • Implements and enforces departmental policies and procedures
  • In coordination with departmental management, ensures compliance with regulatory and audit agency requirements

Minimum Requirements:

      • Verbal & Written Fluency in English & French (position is Paris based reporting to VP in the US)
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, business or related required
      • Minimum of 7 years in Information Technology Applications
      • 5+ year of implementation and support experience with manufacturing, quality, & laboratory systems
      • Experience in Project management in leading the teams
      • Experience in writing the SDLC and Validation deliverables including functional and technical                           specifications for development and testing scripts
      • Prefer experience in Pharma / Biopharmaceutical / BioTech / other healthcare organization
      • Prefer prior experience with Quality Management/Quality Systems
      • Demonstrated capability to conceptualize, analyze, and solve technical and business challenges
      • A team player and effective communicator who can build consensus
      • Must demonstrate excellent presentation, communication, writing and facilitation skills
