A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a  Design Engineer join a UK known defence manufacturer in the Eastbourne area. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative and creative industry!

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop textile-based products from concept to production.
• Select materials, fibers, and fabrics appropriate for performance, sustainability, and cost.
• Translate design briefs into 2D/3D models and prototypes using CAD software.
• Conduct product testing and refine designs based on performance data and user feedback.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to optimize for scalability and production.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and sustainability practices.
• Stay informed about textile innovations, emerging technologies, and design trends

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Degree in Design Engineering, Product Design, Textile Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in product development, preferably within textile-based industries.
• Strong knowledge of textiles, fabrics, and material properties.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
• Experience in prototyping, pattern making, and technical drawing.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chains related to textile products.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
