The College Director and Principal is responsible for the operational objectives of the college as well as ensuring its long-term development and growth, and that students experience educational outcomes of the highest quality.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary level qualifications and extensive experience at a senior level in the higher education sector.
  • Experience within a managed campus or college business model, and/or a function/department
  • Sound business and financial acumen, and a talent for creative thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills at both strategic and operational levels, including effective management of human resources and teams; demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated hands-on management style, adaptable to a changing environment
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills and ability to be resourceful
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and an ability to build and maintain effective business relationships and networks.
  • Experience working effectively with a broad stakeholder group, and in particular developing strategy in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, quality assurance management concepts and issues, with the capacity to apply this knowledge to the accountability of the position;
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated;
  • Knowledge of and ability to respond to the regulatory framework governing the higher education sector in Australia.
  • Sound knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health and safety principles and ability to implement them at the strategic and/or or operational level.
