Location: Bristol Avonmouth BS11 (need to drive due to location)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

Pay: £12.71 per hour (paid weekly)

Overview

We’re recruiting a Customer Service Advisor to join a busy operation in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with customers, confirming details, and making sure deliveries run smoothly by resolving issues before they impact service.

You’ll proactively contact customers ahead of scheduled deliveries to confirm bookings, check site details and access restrictions, update customer records, and flag any concerns to the operations team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Customer Contact & Delivery Confirmation

  • Call customers ahead of scheduled deliveries to confirm availability and requirements
  • Verify delivery dates, access restrictions, site opening hours and delivery instructions
  • Answer queries regarding upcoming deliveries
  • Build strong customer relationships with a friendly and professional approach

Booking & Appointment Management

  • Arrange and confirm delivery bookings where required
  • Accurately record booking details on internal systems
  • Escalate any special requirements or delivery concerns to the operations/transport team

Customer Records & Data Cleansing

  • Review and update customer information to ensure accuracy
  • Validate phone numbers, email addresses and delivery addresses
  • Identify and correct duplicate, incomplete or inaccurate records
  • Support ongoing data quality improvement

Delivery Updates & Tracking Support

  • Monitor scheduled deliveries and provide updates when required
  • Assist with investigating delayed or failed deliveries
  • Communicate delivery status/ETA information to customers
  • Log all customer contact outcomes accurately

Operational/Administrative Support

  • Work closely with Transport, Operations and Customer Service teams
  • Support reporting on contact activity and delivery confirmation rates
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery success and customer satisfaction
  • Help with general admin tasks as needed

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
  • Strong customer service focus with a calm, professional approach
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organised, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Confident handling queries and resolving issues
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel beneficial)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience (Beneficial, Not Essential)

  • Customer service, pre-calling, scheduling, logistics, transport coordination or administration
  • Appointment booking and diary management
  • Working with CRM/customer databases/transport systems
  • Data cleansing and record maintenance
  • Delivery tracking and customer updates
