Production Supervisor

Our client, an automotive warehouse located near the Downtown Detroit area, is currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team!

Temp to hire opportunity!

Schedule:
Monday/Tuesday - Afternoon shift
Friday/Saturday - Day shift

Payrate: $27/hr.

As a production supervisor you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities associated with the manufacturing and shipping of quality interior assemblies.



Job duties will include:
• Supervise Production Team Members
• Be involved with the creation and maintenance of standard operating instructions (ODS’s)
• Allocate manning across responsible lines to ensure effective utilization of resources and that daily targets are met
• Be accountable for the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental Policies within the plant in order that legal and Company requirements are met
• Lead or participate in Health, Safety & Environmental investigations and the 8D process for recordable injuries and/or near misses
• Incorporate safe working procedures into all activities in assigned production area(s)/assembly line(s)
• Work within established Company Policies and Procedures to administer the discipline procedure and avoid setting precedents which could be detrimental to the business
• Ensure that the Company’s production and quality expectations are achieved for assigned production area(s)/assembly line(s)
• Constantly monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative continuous improvement in the operation and service to the customer
• Responsible for ensuring that all Company principles are taught and being adhered to on a day-to-day basis: i.e. 5S culture, standardized work practices
• Hourly supervision of key measurable such as jobs per hour, scrap, internal & external defects, rotations, 5S, etc. to ensure Company targets are met
• Verify implementation of solutions to problems
• Act as a liaison with managers and staff and effectively communicate relevant information to those who need to know
• Monitor production processes to assure continuous adherence to quality specifications
• Communicate and coordinate manufacturing related quality improvements in line with customer requirements
• Oversee housekeeping and maintain good housekeeping in work area(s)/assembly line(s)
• Display a demeanor and leadership style that is consistent with the Company’s values and management philosophy
• Provide recognition and positive reinforcement to Team Members
• Develop Team Leaders and/or Production Team Members for potential future advancement
• Control further processing and customer delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected
• Appropriately exercise authority and responsibility to stop the production line
• Perform all other tasks deemed necessary to provide our customer(s) with high quality, on-time products to continually exceed our customer’s increasing expectation and those of our Team Members.

Education Required:
• High School Education
• Post-Secondary degree would be considered an asset
• Basic computer skills and knowledge/use of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
