A leading manufacturing facility in Hanover PA has a direct hire opening for a Mechanical Machine Design Engineer for creative design, redesign and conceptualized design work within the organization using 2D and 3D-CAD.

Summary:
 Provide concept ideas and machine design solutions based on customer machine requests
 Prepare drawings from ideas, makes layout drawings
 Prepare engineering calculations to support estimated production projections
 Participate in engineering department pricing estimate review
 Review all designs in cooperation with Engineering Manager, and others
 Participate in engineering department projects including new machine design developments, improvements and refinements to existing proprietary equipment and assigned design projects requiring solutions and suggestions of functional concept.
 Respond to customer service technical inquiries as requested and assigned.
 Travel on occasion to customer site to consult with customers prior to or upon installation
 Prepare written literature for designed machinery to cover operator’s running instructions, plant maintenance of equipment and operational trouble-shooting
 Assist with start-up, running, trouble-shooting, and “debugging” of new and existing machine designs in the shop
 Analyze, interpret, and recommend modifications to new or existing designs

Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
 5 + years prior mechanical design experience with proven ability of creative design preferred.
 Demonstrated machine design ability; good conceptual, writing and math skills.
 Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
 Excellent computer skills and experience with 2D and 3D-CAD.
 Thorough and detail-oriented and able to see projects through to completion.
