We are looking for a Driver for one of our clients with the following details: 

Start Date: ASAP

Site / Department / Service:  Trekkopje Namibia

Duration: 9 months (Feb-Oct)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12
• Code 08 Drivers Licence (Code 10 or 11 will be an added advantage)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in similar position
• Experience in multicultural context
• Fluent in English, written and spoken

Requirements and skills:

• A valid driver’s license
• Proven experience as a Driver
• A clean driving record
• Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations
• Familiarity with GPS devices
• Knowledge of area roads and neighbourhoods (Swakopmund / Walvis Bay / Arandis / Windhoek)
• Ability to lift heavy packages/tools and luggage
• Availability to work during weekend, bank holidays and night shifts
• A polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
• Ability to document clearly vehicle status by written following daily vehicle check
• Effective communication skills.
• Punctual and reliable

Responsibilities:

• This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Drive company cars to transport passengers and/or make deliveries.
• Follow regulations governing transport operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Pick up passengers at prearranged locations
• Assist company’s resources with loading and unloading their equipment / tools / luggage in the car
• Follow traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions
• Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
• Ensure anytime the car seats and car interior are clean
• Proceed every day before starting the vehicle to the daily controls required by the company and fill the related report to document the vehicle status, perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water.
• Schedule regular car service appointments on site and report any issues
• Maintain exterior cleanliness of the car
• Reporting immediately any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management
• Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking
