Maintenance Engineer

Location: Birkhill - Lesmahagow
Salary: £40,786 + Overtime
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical skills and experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Birkhill site, keeping plant and equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial plant and equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned, corrective and preventative maintenance across site
  • Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and responding to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
  • Maintaining heavy industrial equipment including screw conveyors, elevators, rotating machinery and compressor systems
  • Working with steam boilers and pressure systems, carrying out inspections and maintenance as required
  • Identifying equipment issues and completing both temporary and permanent repairs to maintain reliable production
  • Completing routine maintenance, inspections, verification measurements and accurate maintenance records
  • Working safely and maintaining high standards across Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements
  • Supporting the wider Operations team, plant reliability improvements and participating in the 24/7 on-call rota when required

What We’re Looking For

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer
  • Strong experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on mechanical maintenance and repair experience
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and availability to provide 24-hour/7-day on-call cover for breakdowns and emergencies when required
