The Opportunity and Who Are You ?

This is a brand new, critical DBA role to drive the design, build and support of core database platforms responsible for the performance, integrity and security of databases across this complex organisation. Reporting to the IT Development Manager, you will play a key role supporting the strategic transformation plan, working hand-in-hand with Operations as the trusted DBA for exciting new ventures for the organisation.

As this is a brand new role and first dedicated DBA role for the client, the opportunities to make a difference are huge. For the first 6-12 months, certain priority projects will be agreed upon.

You will be based both in the office and woking from home, maybe 3 days at home and 2 days at the offices near Belrose, although if you'd prefer more office time to learn the business, it can be facilitated.

You are a talented DBA, senior and proven with a broad, yet specific skill set as follows:

• SQL Server core skill set
• Skilled managing database technologies
• Proven corporate DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Servers (performance tuning, disaster recovery and integration)
• Experience in scripting including PowerShell, SSRS, SSIS
• Experience in AWS with skills across Microsoft and Linux operating systems
• Experience of ITIL and ITSM methodologies

You will also:

• Have knowledge of emerging technologies in data technology and its commercial applications
• Work with solution architects, developers, BI teams to create, access and maintain scalable structured data
• Become the SME for Database related questions and deliver quality database services
• Demonstrate experience in a technical leadership position
• Have the ability to coordinate multiple activities for numerous stakeholders
