The Role
As Buyer / Product Development Assistant you will provide efficient & effective administrative support to the Buying Director throughout the product development, from initial design concept to product delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- contributing to decisions regarding the product range
- tracking product through lifecycle, understanding demand / colour trends / future opportunities
- preparation of sales data / trading packs
- commissioning new designs & product specifications
- following up on all product development with international offices
- management of samples & swatch library
- attending key trade shows / building effective customer relationships
- liaising effectively with Sales, Stock Management, & Warehouse teams

The Person
As Buying Assistant - Textiles you will have experience within a buying / product development role. With a knowledge or interest in textiles or homeware products, and a strong understanding of colour, pattern and scale, you will also have the following:
- self-motivation and enthusiasm
- good attention to detail / excellent organisational / time management skills
- competent using Word / Excel / Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- ability to use your own initiative / work unsupervised
- excellent communication skills
