Platform Lead             Hertfordshire               £50,000 to £60,000 p.a. + benefits

Experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Platform Lead for local government role. Fully agile working environment and significant flexible / remote working on offer.

The Role

As Platform Lead / Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the day to day running of production servers, operating system, cloud environments, O365 collaboration applications, SAAS applications, network, backups and internet security infrastructure while ensuring high levels of systems availability. Your responsibilities will include:

• providing advice to team members / creation of governance structure
• participating in technology strategic activities / formulate technology roadmaps
• ensuring calls to ICT support are handled professionally & efficiently
• reviewing design documents / participating in service transition activities
• ensuring production infrastructure changes are approved before work is undertaken

The Person

As Platform Lead you will have a relevant qualification and be familiar with IT industry standards, ITIL, ISO, IEC, etc. With experience in the management / administration of multiple enterprise level Azure tenancy with proven experience in cost control and licence management, you will also need:

• basic understanding of firewall and layer 3 networking
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• good planning / organisational / problem solving skills
• proficiency in using computer systems and technical databases

There will be some local business travel involved.
