Exciting opportunity for practical, hands on person to train as a Fire and Flood Technician with busy and successful company.  Opportunities in both Somerset and Cornwall

The Role

As Trainee Fire and Flood Restoration Technician you will receive training to become a fully proficient fire & flood technician.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • safeguarding property against secondary damage
  • removing / securing all salvageable contents / personal belongings
  • restoration of valuable items ( antiques / fine arts / clothing / electronic equipment )
  • removing smoke & soot damage / odour & contaminations
  • extracting water ( injection / suction drying )
  • sanitising and decontamination

 

The Company

Our client is a busy, successful and expanding business based in Somerset. They specialise in restoring properties that have been damaged by flood and fire, restoring anything from pipe works to furniture.

The Person

As Trainee Fire and Flood Technician you ideally have a background in construction ( builder, plumber, plasterer, carpenter, labourer), furniture, carpets and upholstery restoration, asbestos removal, or domestic / commercial cleaning but this is in no way essential.  More important is your positive attitude, hands on, practical ability, and good teamwork.  Full training will be given, but you will need:

  • good organisation skills / attention to detail
  • good customer service / communication skills
  • ability to move furniture / undertake practical tasks
  • full driving licence
