Corporate Director of Development and Planned Maintenance - strategic leadership role with community mutual housing organisation

The Role

As Corporate Director – Development and Planned Maintenance and as part of the senior leadership team you will take responsibility for the delivery of business wide objectives, ensuring robust financial management and promoting a culture of empowerment to improve service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • strategic leadership ensuring delivery of the corporate plan
  • leadership of development / planned maintenance programme
  • leadership of asset strategy to provide value for money
  • delivery of all areas of performance / risk management for the directorate
  • identifying requirements for building sustainable communities
  • overseeing programme to meet challenges of decarbonisation / climate change / fuel poverty
  • overseeing delivery of approved development and regeneration programme
  • liaise with Local Authority, Welsh Government and other stakeholders to maximise investment

The Company

Our client is based in Pontypridd, a community mutual housing organisation established specifically to manage the Council’s transferred housing stock, providing good quality homes for thousands of people and regenerating local communities. This is a home-working / remote based role with travel to the office required only for specific meetings / occasions.

The Person

As Corporate Director – Development and Planned Maintenance you will have experience in a similar role or senior project management experience.  With qualifications in construction / community development you will have proven commercial acumen, and a good knowledge of planning legislation.  With experience managing significant capital budgets and of community regeneration achieved through customer involvement & engagement you will be an agile thinker with the vision and creativity to help deliver investment programmes to provide lasting results for our communities:

  • experience of construction contract management and procurement processes
  • experience of effective change management
  • strong teamwork, interpersonal, leadership & organisational skills
  • health & safety experience
  • good communication and report writing skills

Knowledge or understanding of MRICS / MCIOB / construction Industry practice and/or Welsh Government grant funding criteria would be beneficial, but by no means essential. Equally as important is how you fit in to our culture where our values direct everything we do.
