Senior Electrical Designer / Design Team Manager              Bristol        £65k to £75k p.a. + benefits

Join this Bristol based successful high voltage engineering company as Senior Electrical Designer to lead a team of engineers and technicians

The Role

As Senior Electrical Designer you will manage a team of engineers & CAD technicians. With responsibility for managing design process / delivery of designs you will also be responsible for:

• producing design risk assessments / providing design support at all stages of project
• updating / compiling new company design standards
• producing technical specifications for primary equipment / protection / control equipment.
• working with in-house design / CAD drafting team to generate / prepare design packages
• attending sites for inspection / design purposes / factory acceptance tests as required.
• attending design & co-ordination meetings with clients / consultants / representatives

The Company

Our client is a Bristol based high voltage engineering company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, grid connections and renewable generation. They are currently undergoing a period of successful growth, as they seek to power the transition to a carbon free future.

The Person

As Senior Electrical Designer you will have relevant experience of high voltage electrical engineering design in the electrical contracting or utility industries. Experience at EHV level (66 & 132 kV) is desirable.  Qualified or working towards professional registration as a chartered engineer and with knowledge of industry design and study simulation software packages, you will also have the following skills:

• ability to manage team of engineers / provide technical support
• ability to manage multiple design projects and prioritise conflicting project deadlines
• strong report writing skills / ability to communicate technical information clearly / concisely

You must hold a full UK driving licence as this role requires some travel with occasional overnight stays.
