Data Engineer                           Bath                       £35k to £45k p.a. + benefits d.o.e.

Experienced Data Engineer for successful & expanding energy provider in Bath

Our client is a successful digital energy supplier. Their market-disrupting, consumer-focused digital energy model is designed specifically to meet the need for change in the energy sector.

As Data Engineer you will be at the heart of the data team at a time when the energy industry itself is undergoing a data revolution. As part of a small, highly skilled and highly trusted team, you can have a big impact on operations. The main responsibilities are:

• building & maintaining data pipelines to drive analytics & reporting
• automation of regular/one-off bulk processes
• working with data scientists on machine learning models
• responsibility for data team’s cloud infrastructure
• spearheading use of new technologies
• working with stakeholders supporting member services and operations

You are a proactive problem solver with a good basis of core technical skills:

• Could you call an API and parse the response?
• experience with git and CI/CD
• knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL
• Not sysadmin leve, but safe with sudo
• familiarity with a cloud ( eg AWS )

The current stack includes AWS (S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, Glue), Apache Airflow, Python/Jupyter, SalesForce, and Docker.

The role is office based but can be performed from home with regular visits to the office in Bath
