Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Oldbury (B69), West Midlands

Days Monday to Friday (Mon – Thur: 0730am to 1600pm & Fri: 0730am to 1230pm).

£37,800+

A leading construction manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well-established Engineering Team.

Role Description

  • Completing scheduled maintenance and reactive maintenance on various mechanical machinery
  • Working within a team to support the manufacturing process
  • Effective recording and monitoring of all engineering and production-based issues
  • Troubleshooting issues and suggesting solutions to prevent reoccurrences
  • Communicating with Production Managers and Team Leaders on progress of issues
  • Investigating faults with plant and equipment, completing necessary repairs and reporting status within the maintenance recording system.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Time served Mechanical Engineer with solid industry experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum City and Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering (or similar)
  • Good fitting skills
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding experience
  • Experience of planned maintenance and reactive maintenance, continuous improvement/lean manufacturing
  • Ability to weld and fabricate (desirable)
  • Well organised, proactive and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Good diligence
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
