Double day shift (0600ams – 1600hrs / 1400hrs to 2200hrs)

£45,000+

A leading manufacturing company within the construction sector has an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased multiskilled maintenance engineer to join their well-established Engineering Team.

Skills required

  • 18th Edition Electrical wiring regulations
  • HNC, City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or similar)
  • A minimum of 5+ years industry experience in the high-volume manufacturing sector
  • Proficient in conducting preplanned and schedule maintenance and reactive maintenance for a wide electrical and mechanical machinery, parts and components
  • Strong electrical maintenance capability, proficient in electrical fault-finding, single-phase and three-phase machinery, AD DC motors, relays, switches and sensors and panel wiring
  • Use of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to read and implement electrical and technical drawings
  • Experience in CAD or similar software programmes
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, processes and drawings; knowledge of belts, chains, pulleys, conveyors, gearboxes
  • Knowledge of PLCs is highly desirable
  • Sound knowledge of cold rolling and cold pressing processes & techniques (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation requirements (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of general quality & environmental legislation requirements (desirable)

Responsibilities (non-exhuastive list)

  • Routine, preventive maintenance and reactive across the site and to diagnose and propose solutions for all engineering plant breakdowns/failures
  • Continuously improve performance, efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness of engineering products and systems by developing, supporting and driving improvement opportunities and best practices approaches
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling & installing components.
  • Support the engineering function in the development of new electrical engineering parts, products, new tooling and new engineering processes.
  • Ensure all equipment, machinery, parts and fork-lift trucks are operated in accordance with health & safety, quality, environmental, compliance and sustainability policy requirements.
  • Participate in Training and Continuous Professional Development, as required
