Senior Engineer

Sandwell, West Midlands

Monday to Friday – 0600hrs - 1400hrs / 1100 - 1900hrs

£50,000 - £55,000+

A leading circular services firm has an exciting opportunity for a Senior to join their established Engineering Team.

 Responsibilities

  • Manage a multiskilled engineering team. 
  • Provide insight and contribution into the continuous improvement of plant.
  • Ensure clear channels of communication with production and other arms of the workforce, providing an accurate and timely handover
  • Conduct routine and accurate assessments on energy metrics, ensuring compliance with CSR goals.
  • Ensure rigorous and continuous adherence to Health and Safety standards, championing H&S Best Practices and reporting and investigating any incident or accidents.
  • Effective tracking and management of departmental budgets
  • Ensuring all required parts and consumables are available and/or ordered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Skills required.

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience within in a manufacturing and/or process industry.
  • Proficient in Electrical and Mechanical processes and machinery, including pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical components
  • The ability to interpret and apply technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ensure Proactive and Reactive Maintenance data is accurately captured within the CMMS system.
  • Experience of managing an engineering team (desirable)
  • Previous experience in an FMCG or fast-paced/high-production industrial environment (desirable)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Project Management, Six Sigma and Capex (Desirable)
  • Experience of mentoring and developing engineers, including apprentices (desirable)
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations (desirable)
  • Electrical Inspections and Installations (desirable)
  • Initiative-taking, with the ability to react quickly and decisively to company needs.
  • Willingness to commute between company premises and training facilities as/when required.
