MRP Controller

Location: Bilston, Wolverhampton

Shift: Monday to Friday (office hours)

Salary: Up to £30,000 (DOE)

A unique opportunity has arisen for an MRP Controller to join a prestigious, time-honoured engineering firm within the heart of Black Country. This is a brand-new position, created as part of the firm’s on-going development and expansion programme in partnership with a major manufacturing firm.

The successful applicant will occupy a central role within the firm’s operational framework, overseeing materials control & workflow schedules to support seamless & efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the MRP system: reviewing & actioning messages, ensuring data is always accurate, timely and error-free
  • Accurately maintaining & updating Bills of Materials (BOM) and all associated product information within the MRP
  • Liaising with sales, engineering, production and maintenance to gauge current WIP and future production demands to support production scheduling
  • Creating, actioning and closing all work orders
  • Maintaining a lean stock inventory, monitoring all stock transactions and actioning new material requirements on request
  • Generating reports to provide real-time understanding of stock health, workload capacity and performance
  • Engaging with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials, ensuring potential delays or disruptions are resolved ahead of time.
  • Raising job packs & generating Work-to-List briefings to ensure engineers are equipped with correct production schedules
  • Support quality & non-conformance management oversight

About you

  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP software within a manufacturing environment
  • Outstanding organisation skills, managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving ability, anticipating & resolve potential issues ahead of time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, engaging clearly with internal & external stakeholders
  • Exacting attention to detail, maintaining pristine and timely data
  • Experience with Javelin software is desirable
  • Knowledge of CNC Machining, Precision Engineering or working to QMS (ISO9001 or AS9001) is highly desirable
  • Aspirational Graduates with interests in Supply and Production Planning may also be considered
