About the role

The Student and Academic Services (SAS) team is responsible for providing high quality administrative and services support within the College across a broad range of academic and student services and administrative functions. The team performs a wide range of functions throughout the student lifecycle, including new student orientations, enrolment, timetabling, social activities and excursions, examinations, and more.

As the first point of contact for students at UC College, the role will help students navigate a wide range of situations and be an approachable, empathetic and understanding guide for students seeking information or a solution to their a problem. The role will liase regularly with academic staff at UC College, as well as staff at The University of Canberra, and high level interpersonal and networking skills will be vital to achieve results.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deal with competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to students and professionals
  • Ability to independently resolve routine problems and issues
  • Sense of responsibility and commitment to education
  • IT literacy (e.g. student information system or database, or customer relationship management systems) and experience
  • Excellent communication skills, including with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
