Clinical Nurse Manager – 40 Bed Facility - Great Staff to Patient Ratio

Located in Bicton, our aged care client has a great company culture with a talented team of people who are extremely passionate about taking care of the elderly in their twilight years.

An exciting position has become for a talented Clinical Nurse Manager working in residential aged care who has an understanding of the new aged care standards, compliance, clinical governance, auditing and what is needed to pass accreditation from a clinical perspective.  Our client is truly committed to investing in the highest quality of care being delivered to residents and their families at all times.

You will be reporting to the Director of Healthcare & Lifestyle and this is a key clinical leadership role. The Clinical Nurse Manager works in collaboration to achieve best practice person centred clinical care, aligned with the Clinical Governance Framework and Aged Care Quality Standards.

The ideal applicant will be a Registered Nurse who has strong leadership skills and experience – you will be highly motivated, adaptable, and willing to drive clinical excellence in order to deliver the highest standard of care on a consistent basis. As a senior clinical leader, you will lead by example and inspire others to achieve the absolute best outcomes for residents, whilst educating and mentoring your own clinical team to success.

This role will suit a professional RN who has progressed to a Clinical Nurse or Clinical Care Coordinator/CNM level.  You will need to demonstrate a passion and determination for creating a positive impact on all clinical care for the residential facility.  This position is permanent full time working Monday to Friday – 8.30am – 4.30pm.

 

Key Responsibilities of this role:

  • Lead the clinical team in all care related activities and ensure care plans are kept up to date
  • Provide clinical leadership, advice and support to nurses
  • Ensure the facility functions in line with Residential Aged Care quality standards, legislation and best practice guidelines including auditing
  • Ensure AN-AAC opportunities are being identified so the resident receives additional services (training will be provided
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Identify clinical and care systems, process and performance gaps and provide support to develop corrective action plans - drive clinical and care system development, implementation and monitoring
  • Lead the accurate and timely completion of reporting and documentation in line with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, professional standards, policies and procedures
  • Promote residents’ wellbeing and quality of life
  • SIRS management and communicating the residents families to resolve any issues or complaints
  • Lead the clinical team in all care related activities and ensure care plans are kept up to date
  • Identify areas for improvement and apply a Continuous Quality Improvement approach
  • Support the Facility Manager with recruitment, orientation, management and rostering
  • Provide training to the clinical team of Registered Nurses and Carers
  • Participate in HR process including on-site training, recruitment and performance management of clinical staff

 

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated experience as a clinical leader
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of the Commonwealth Aged Care Standards
  • Advanced clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Leading and facilitating the management of clinical care
  • Developed skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
