The Opportunity
Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Project Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Subject Matter Expert – Member Facing (PMM PRIME Initiative) (12 Month FTC) in London . or Any existing Save the Children office location.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children International (SCI) is undergoing significant transformation across a number of core business procedures, systems, and structures, through the implementation of a number of High Performing Organization (HPO) Change Projects.
One Programme is CAPP (Coding, Agresso, PMM PRIME) which has four core strands:
- Deploys a new global financial data model and finance system (Agresso)
- Introduce a new Project Management Methodology (PMM) to improve the quality of our programming for children
- Deliver a technology solution (Programme Reporting, Information Management and Evidence -PRIME) that enables the new PMM
- Deliver this solution not only to Save the Children International but also across the Membership (Save the Children operates as a federated association that comprises of Save the Children International and approximately 27 members. Broadly speaking Members drive the fundraising and deliver programmes domestically. A a subset of the members do programming work internationally, they are referred to as IP Members, and that work is delivered through Save the Children International)
The PMM PRIME element of the CAPP Programme will deliver a global standardised project management methodology and an IT system to record and analyse programmatic information and provide functionality to better manage projects. The project will support proactive and timely management of programs and significantly increase the accessibility of information about Save the Children’s program achievements, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness and a culture of evidence-based knowledge, learning and action on what works best for children.
This is a key role in the PQI team at Save the Children International. The PQI team are part of the International Programmes Department which is led from Save the Children International’s Centre office in London however the location of this role can be flexible, and will work in PMM PRIME as the Member-facing subject matter expert for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). The primary focus of this role is to work with Members to apply the MEAL components of PMM and PRIME into their domestic programmes. This will require working with Members to explain the scope of PMM and PRIME, which elements are optional and which are mandatory. To help the Members complete a change impact assessment for the adoption of PPM PRIME and then support them on that journey including guidance on data migration, configuration of the system to meet their needs. In order to be successful in this role it will be necessary to build significant knowledge of PMM PRIME and the Coding model and detailed knowledge of the MEAL components. It is anticipated that this detailed knowledge will be acquired by supporting the deployment across SCI during the first half of 2021. It will also be necessary to develop an understanding of current Member MEAL systems and their alignment with SCI MEAL systems and procedures.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Extensive Monitoring and Evaluation experience, including working within a complex matrixed organisation ideally in both development and emergency contexts.
- Strong practical experience in project/program monitoring and evaluation (preferably field-based)
- Proven track record of implementing simple, effective monitoring systems, including experience in data collection and management
- Experience working with multiple countries and/or organization headquarter units on MEAL issues
- Knowledge of and experience with a range of MEAL tools and techniques
- Experience in strengthening the demand for data and facilitating the use of information in the decision-making process at different levels – from the field project and programmatic level up to the national level
- Demonstrable success in public speaking, and delivering trainings and workshops
- Training and capacity building experience
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including listening, influencing, negotiation and coaching, with good cultural awareness
- Able to build personal networks at field and senior levels.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively with colleagues to manage interdependencies
- Flexible working style
- Willingness to travel in developing countries (varying, but expected to be 20% of time)

We can offer circa £44,500 per annum with an option of flexible of working hours
