Leading global Speciality Insurer requires an Agile Product Manager for Finance platform.

Being a Product Manager is all about delivering business value and owning the long-term product vision. You own the product throughout its entire lifecycle and achieve success through the management of the Product Team’s outcomes and shared goals. You will either use scrum or another suitable agile method to ensure you are “delivering the right thing” whilst nurturing the happy tension between yourself, the Scrum Master and the Delivery Team.

Practically this means you will:

§ Represent the Product and its best interests in all key meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

§ Work collaboratively with the Product Owner and stakeholders to create a value-driven, long-term product vision and roadmap – setting expectations, challenging plans and assumptions and holding them to account for value realisation.

§ Hold the Product Owner accountable for the business outcome they wish to achieve.

§ Ensure delivery teams clearly understand the product vision, business outcomes and the value of the work they are performing.

§ Work with the Delivery Team to drive teams’ performance and velocity.

§ Maintain the product backlog ensuring the highest value items are being delivered at all times.

§ Maintain a detailed knowledge of market factors, the product and product backlog, being able to answer questions whenever required and proactively anticipate change.

§ Collaborate with the Delivery Team to define the sprint goals, sprint backlog, acceptance criteria and ensure the “Definition of Ready” and “Definition of Done” are met at all times.

§ Lead backlog refinement sessions with the delivery team empowering them to define “how” work will be completed.

§ During sprints you will lead planning sessions, answer questions from the delivery team, work with the Delivery Team to re-prioritise items if required, give feedback on work in progress, accept completed work, attend agile ceremonies if necessary and always know the progress of sprints.

§ Consult with the Product Owner and relevant stakeholders on decisions that require validation/additional knowledge.

§ Collaborate with other Product Managers to align on their roadmaps, goals and products.

§ Spot dependencies with other products then share and mitigate those with the delivery team.

§ Own the product through its entire lifecycle unless deemed appropriate to delegate this responsibility to another. If this is the case, then this is clearly communicated to all relevant parties.
