Systems Designer

Systems Designer experienced in Access Control, CCTV, Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarms to work alongside the Sales and Technical Team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the main purpose of this key role would be a central point of contact for all design scheme enquiries.

Main Duties

- Ownership of complete end to end design process from internal and external customers

- Direct liaison with wholesaler and contractor in order to deliver a timely functional solution

- Collation and management of all relevant information to enable a compliant scheme to be designed

- Design layouts and production of system design layouts and technical specifications for access control, CCTV, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems

- Creation of innovative compliant design solutions

- Production of battery and loop calculations for fire alarm design solutions

- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers in a way in which the recipient can understand

- Maintaining a design register in accordance with Company requirements

- Design with focus on core technologies that are available from the product portfolio

- Conducting site surveys in conjunction with an ASM

Skills and Experience

- System design and installation experience

- Excellent customer service focus

- Ability to prioritise and manage own workflows in a structured and organised manner

- Knowledge of construction methods including modern construction methods

- Knowledge of BS/BS EN standards and any other local / regional regulatory requirements

- Experience of using AutoCAD

- Knowledge of BS7671

- Ability to understand technical specifications and drawings

- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

- Excellent at managing clients and client expectations

- Proactive in approach and ability to work on own initiative

- Ability to work as part of a team

- Excellent all-round communication skills

- Excellent presentational and reporting skills

- Enthusiastic, flexible attitude

- Good level of PC literacy (MS Office packages)
