About The Company

Our client is a market leader in the supply of services and solutions for electrical installations in all types of buildings including commercial, residential and industrial properties.

Reporting to The Project Support Manager, the purpose of the role of Application Engineer will be to:

  • Provide an accurate and timely project quotation service to our customers, whether internal or external and ensure to provide a lean process and optimisation
  • Coordinate Project Management Technical assistance by telephone support to customers as necessary
  • Support sales of products through increased awareness, understanding and application of electrical distribution systems and wider product portfolio

Project Management:

  • Provide an accurate and timely quotation process for internal and external customers
  • Accurate and timely decision making on enquiries
  • Provide reports on conversation rate analysis (won/lost)
  • Ensure all won projects are processed in line with customer expectations
  • Ensure all quotations from schematic drawings are interpreted in line with the customer’s expectations and provide opportunities to increase the brand awareness
  • Liaise with customers for delivery schedules and to provide information for production process 
  • Maintain an accurate database of all project enquiries and quotations
  • Continually review process to ensure the Company maximises all opportunities
  • Act as an information hub for sales teams

Internal and External Technical Support:

  • Provide Technical Support cover on the National Technical Helpline in a knowledgeable and professional manner
  • Ensure all calls are completed to a satisfaction level which is acceptable to the customer
  • Provide reports on product issues, problems, and frequently asked questions
  • Initiate and maintain a high level of technical customer service through self-learning modules
  • Provide when necessary onsite support to our customers on technical issues
  • Ensure adequate telephone support is in place at peak times, absenteeism and holiday periods
  • Compile and complete a log of all customer complaints and problems in order that corrective actions can be put in place

Qualifications

  • Suitable relevant qualification (minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering).
