HSE Lead (BBBH337) Sydney, Australia

Salary: AUD180000 - AUD200000 per annum + Super, LAHA, Accomodation

HSE Lead / HSE Manager

What will this role do to improve your life?

This is an opportunity to join one of Australia's fastest growing EPC contractors with a genuinely exciting pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy projects.

You'll be joining a business with long-term financial backing, a collaborative leadership team and some of the smartest people in the industry. Rather than being brought in for a single project, you'll become part of a business that's continuing to grow across Australia, giving you genuine long-term career opportunities.

Your first project will be a utility-scale Solar & BESS development near Dubbo before transitioning onto future projects in Queensland.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced HSE Lead or HSE Manager to take ownership of all on-site health, safety and environmental activities.

This is a site-based leadership position where you'll be the senior HSE representative on the project, working closely with construction, subcontractors and the corporate HSE team to ensure safety systems are effectively implemented and embedded on site.

The business already has an established corporate HSE function responsible for policies, procedures and governance, allowing you to focus on leading safety where it matters most - in the field.

Roster arrangements are flexible and can be discussed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site HSE activities throughout project delivery
  • Drive a positive safety culture across employees and subcontractors
  • Implement company HSE systems, processes and procedures on site
  • Conduct audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Coach and support supervisors and project teams on HSE best practice
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, environmental requirements and client expectations
  • Work closely with the corporate HSE team to continuously improve project performance

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a HSE Lead, Project HSE Manager or Site HSE Manager on major construction projects
  • Strong background leading safety on complex construction sites
  • Confident working closely with project managers, supervisors and subcontractors
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Renewable energy experience is highly regarded but not essential
  • Utility, civil, infrastructure, mining or major project experience will also be considered

What's on offer?

  • Join a rapidly growing EPC contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work
  • Initial utility-scale Solar & BESS project near Dubbo followed by future projects in Queensland
  • Long-term career progression as the business continues to expand
  • Work alongside an experienced corporate HSE team and high-performing project leaders
  • Flexible roster arrangements
  • Competitive salary package with long-term stability

If you're an experienced HSE leader looking to join a business where you'll have real ownership on site and be part of a company with significant growth ahead, we'd love to hear from you.
