Pay Rate: £13.98 – £14.20 per hour

Working Hours: Rotating shifts, Monday to Friday 06:00 – 14:00 & 14:00 – 22:00

About the Role:
Major Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of Smart Architectural Aluminium, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of aluminium glazing systems for residential and commercial markets.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for candidates looking for long-term, full-time employment with a well-established and modern manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:
CNC Operations & General Duties:
- Operate CNC machinery in line with set procedures and tolerances
- Produce high-quality machined parts efficiently
- Follow production plans to meet deadlines
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues and report any issues
- Undertake training to operate a range of CNC machines
- Keep work areas clean and organised
- Provide cover for the shift leading hand when required
- Support various tasks within the department, including packing, saw operation, and lathe work
Health & Safety:
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and instructions
- Use machinery only when trained and authorised
- Carry out pre-use checks on equipment
- Report and isolate any faulty machinery immediately
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Take responsibility for your own safety and that of others
Production Responsibilities:
- Ensure machines are set up with correct software and tooling
- Carry out regular checks of tooling and report defects
- Monitor production and identify any issues or machine faults
- Assist with improving machine setup times
- Communicate with supervisors and maintenance teams regarding breakdowns
- Accurately record machine downtime and issues
Quality:
- Complete all required checks and documentation accurately
- Keep systems and databases up to date
- Follow all procedures, risk assessments, and environmental practices
- Monitor product quality and help reduce defects
- Stay informed about any updates to policies and procedures
