Senior Data Engineer

Are you an entrepreneurial data professional with an eye for detail and a passion for building scalable, company-wide data products? As a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer you will take ownership of designing and implementing data models and business logic that drive success across the organisation. This is a high-impact role at the heart of a large-scale transformation, where you help shape the future of a modern cloud data platform.

About the role

In this role you are responsible for translating business needs into robust data solutions. You will design and implement data models, develop complex transformations (for example in DBT), and ensure data quality across multiple domains. You act as the bridge between business and IT, facilitating smooth delivery and alignment with architectural guidelines.

Key focus areas include:

• Translating business and functional requirements into scalable data models and reusable business logic
• Implementing transformations and workflows on a modern cloud data platform
• Driving data quality through testing, documentation, and automated controls
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and platform specialists
• Supporting the migration from legacy systems to a centralised data environment
• Enabling self-service analytics and empowering teams to build their own data products

About you

You bring:

• 8+ years of experience as an Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or BI Specialist 
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT or similar
• Proficiency in DBT or comparable transformation tools
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud), data lakes and modern data architectures
• Strong skills in Power BI, SQL and data modelling
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to bridge business and technology
• A pragmatic, structured mindset with a focus on quality and delivery
