Welder (BBBH16178) Plymouth, England
My client is offering a contract opportunity for Welders to join their team based in Plymouth. As the Welder, your main responsibility will be to safely perform welding and related tasks, working on ships, submarines and within a factory environment.
Role: Welder
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Contract: 6-months
Hourly Rate: Competitive + radius allowance
Security clearance: Must be able to achieve SC
Essential Experience:
- You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to welding.
- Competent within some or all of the following – FCAW, MMA, MIG, TIG
- Be able to undertake regular welding requalification to meet required standards
- Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
- Experience of working within marine engineering environment
Qualifications Required:
- Time served apprentice within the field of marine engineering / naval engineering environment
- Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to the role
- Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship
- Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role
