Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (BBBH15674) Yeovil, England

Salary: GBP15 - GBP20 per hour

My client is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join on them on a 8 month contract. As an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for getting hands on experience with test facilities such as performance rigs, high altitude test chambers, acceleration centrifuge, high flow, high/low temperature test cells and more. This is a fantastic opportunity offering varied work within an exciting engineering department.

Pay: £15-20 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay on top.
Location: Yeovil
Contract:  8 month Contract to the end of 2024
Hours: Monday to Friday Onsite

Job Profile
An exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join us in Yeovil as an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer within the Test Solutions department contributing to our unique test facilities.
The successful individual will be part of a team that design and create bespoke test solutions for the development and test of engineering components and systems.
Responsibility will be across Life Support Systems, Environmental Control Systems and Hydraulic product lines at both component and aircraft system level.
• Interpret data acquisition requirements from technical documentation
• Creating bespoke National Instruments LabVIEW programs
• Design and implement test measurement solutions
• Support test rig and component calibration
• Provide data acquisition support to engineering test campaigns
• Responsibility for all aspects of instrumentation for assigned projects
• Managing own workload
• Assistance with project estimates

Skills/Experience Required
Essential:
• Competent in the use of National Instruments LabVIEW
• Working knowledge of PLC's and process controllers
• HND/HNC in a related engineering discipline OR 5 years industry experience
• Ability to identify requirements from technical documentation
• Ability to take ownership of a task and get results
• Strong communication skills essential
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools
Desired:
• Experience of electronic circuit design
• Knowledge/experience of aerospace test facilities an advantage
• Experience working with pneumatics
• Experience using Dewesoft Data Acquisition
• Knowledge of different pressure, temperature and flow measuring instrumentation

Education & Training
Essential – Strong experience in a similar role
 HND/HNC in a related engineering discipline OR 5 years industry experience
