Due to continued expansion across the business, our client, a market leading FMCG manufacturer is seeking to enhance its team with the appointment of an Automation Engineer on site.

This role offers the opportunity to work for a true market leader and established global brand. With progressive training and development this role allows potential promotion in the longer term. Role Description

- Electrical duty holder for site

- Attend daily/weekly team reviews (manufacturing and engineering)

- Work with the Lead Engineers and Maintenance Manager to bridge skills gaps within the department

- Manage and control site operational and engineering software

- Ensure backups are maintained for all software

- Ensure interface software is up to date and accessible

- Assist in developing data capture hardware and software systems

- Provide software troubleshooting advice and assistance were required

- Work with Capex team as required to implement automation and data capture projects

- Carry out regular review of PPMs to ensure suitability

- Engage in CI activities when required

- Document all improvements and ensure key information is delivered to all engineers and key stakeholders

- Co-ordination and delivery of software engineering training to the department

- Ensuring the shift engineers making best use of software systems

- Maintain winning ways behaviours around company policies

- Work with the shift engineers to deliver line improvements

- Carry out all tasks or duties which are deemed appropriate by your line manager

 

 

Skills and Qualifications

- Have sound knowledge of workplace health and safety (IOSH is preferable)

- Multiskilled electrically biased time served engineer – HNC level or above

- Computer literate with a knowledge of CMMS systems

- FMCG experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Software programming capability across multiple platforms

- CI experience of 5Y and 5S
