Account Manager – Food Service Line Management (Kansas City Kansas Public Schools)

OVERVIEW: ESS is a leading provider of full-service staffing and management programs for the K-12 educational market. We are currently seeking an Account Manager to serve as the primary representative of ESS within Kansas City Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS), specifically overseeing the district’s food service line operations and personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct regular, in-person site visits and meetings with ESS clients within KCKPS.
- Serve as the main point of contact between ESS and KCKPS for all matters related to food service staffing and operations.
- Oversee and manage food service line employees, ensuring proper staffing, training, and performance.
- Train, direct, and appraise staff working in the district’s food service line, including cafeteria and kitchen personnel.
- Manage and motivate food service staff, including hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee recognition.
- Create and maintain daily schedules to ensure efficient manpower utilization across school cafeterias.
- Give presentations to the school board of education regarding food service staffing and performance.
- Develop and implement recruiting efforts for food service roles, including job fairs and special hiring events.
- Provide exceptional customer service by resolving issues professionally and empathetically.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
SCHEDULED HOURS: 5am-3pm
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years experience in management or a leadership role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with management reports.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Maintain high ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
