Job Title:      Tool Changer

 

Location:      Banbury

Main purpose of job:

Provide a technical service to ensure the safe, effective and efficient running of tool changes.

Scope of job:

Reporting to: Mould Maintenance Team Leader / Manager

Responsible for: Safety, Quality, Timing, Cost, Motivation

 

Main duties:

 

  • Change tools in line with production requirements.
  • Undertake planned maintenance of all tool change equipment, for example hand tools, presses and mould tools.
  • Minor repairs to all equipment, within skill capabilities.
  • To be able to start/stop IMM Machines of various manufacturers.
  • Work at all times in safe/timely manner.
  • Actively encourage team working.
  • Organise work allocation for your area.
  • Assist in training/coaching of new members of the team.
  • Participate in equipment audits.

Responsibilities:

  • To be able to escalate a problem if after start up the part is not correct.
  • Knowledge of tool change equipment and machinery.
  • To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns e.g. Quality/downtime.
  • Hands on flexible approach to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Multi-skilled in operating to provide training, breaks and absence cover.
  • Actively participate in TPM duties on relevant equipment

  • Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.

  • Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
  • Comply with the Safe System of Work documents.
  • Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.
  • Adhere to 5S processes and procedures.

Quality:

  • Raise quality care points.
  • Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.
  • Adhere to standardised working procedures.
  • Participate in quality checks and controls.
  • Adhere to quality care points.
  • Report repeat quality issues.

 

Cost:

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.
  • Participate in projects within the companies CIP scheme.
  • Taking fast action to reduce customer demerits and cost of quality.
  • Use consumables responsibly.

Specific Skills & Experience:

  • Good analytical skills.
  • Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative,  and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
    • Working hours 40 per week, 3 Shift Rotation, Sunday to Thursday 23.00 – 07.00 hours & Monday to Thursday 07.00 – 15.00 hours & 15.00 – 23.000
