Freelance Functional Safety Expert (Complete Vehicle) (RSS172416) Germany
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Functional Safety Engineer to join our team on a remote basis for a complete vehicle architecture project. This exciting opportunity will focus on Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and system-level requirements within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) for the complete vehicle architecture project.
- Develop and review system-level functional safety requirements based on ISO 26262 standards.
- Participate in safety concept definition and verification activities.
- Conduct safety analyses and evaluations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Identify potential risks and propose effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate functional safety requirements into the overall vehicle architecture.
- Support the quality assurance (QA) process, ensuring that safety measures are implemented correctly.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on functional safety-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience as a Functional Safety Engineer within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards and guidelines.
- Proven expertise in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA).
- Familiarity with safety-related requirements engineering and safety validation processes.
- Proficiency in utilizing functional safety tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English. Additional European languages are a plus.
