Senior VAT Accountant
A great opportunity has arisen to work within this FTSE 100 information provider and publishing house as a Senior VAT Accountant managing the day to day of VAT compliance for the busy organization. You will manage and motivate a team as well as partnering with other areas of the business to help with VAT queries, VAT training and VAT registrations globally
The role
- Review global VAT returns
- Review balance sheet tax related reconciliations
- Monitor tax postings to VAT accounts
- Assist with setting up VAT registrations globally
- VAT training to other areas of the business
- Liaise with advisors both in UK and overseas
- Deal with tax authorities where necessary
- Motivate the team and support with communication across the business
About you
In order to succeed in this challenging role, it is expected that you will have:
- Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA/ACCA/CTA/)
- Tax & Financial Accounting experience
- Good VAT knowledge
- SAP and Oracle knowledge useful
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written
- Ambition and a desire to succeed
- A good team worker
- Ability to work to deadlines and a strict timetable
15 months up to £60,000
1 day a week in Colchester ideally
