Student & Academic Services Officer Canberra, Australia
About the role
UC College is a pathway provider for the University of Canberra, offering bridging courses to both domestic and international students. We are currently seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Student and Academic Services officer who can contribute to providing high quality customer service and efficient administrative support for delivery of our programs.
The person we seek will ideally have the following:
- Demonstrated ability to observe and meet consistent deadlines whilst triaging competing priorities
- Administrative skills and data entry experience
- Experience with student information system or database, and/or customer relationship management systems
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading and editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to students and professionals
- Ability to independently resolve routine problems and issues
- Sense of responsibility and commitment to education
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students partaking in alternative pathways to tertiary education, and in particular the complicated nature of the international student experience.
Desirable but not essential:
- A diploma or higher (or, in lieu, at least three years’ professional experience) relating to administration, education, or international relations
- Exposure to the academic needs and requirements of international students
- Experience in a multicultural environment
