Our Client is a small but rapidly expanding engineering company based in Biggleswade, who makes Cable-forms, Populates P.C.B.’s and builds electronic and mechanical assemblies and systems.
They are looking for a time served Cable/Assembly Technician.
Therefore, the successful applicant will be working in a small but friendly environment within a team not just committed to satisfying customer’s requirements but exceeding them. You may be required to start and stop, run jobs in parallel and take over other people’s work from time to time.
The working environment is clean and tidy, and all tooling, stationary, protective equipment “if required” will be provided.
Essential:
The successful applicant must have some previous cabling experience in either an electronic or mechanical assembly environment.
Know how to strip and terminate wire and cable ends, solder and crimp to a high standard and understand the differences between a good and bad solder joint and crimp termination.
Be familiar with using Heat shrink and multiple cable sleeving and braid materials. Be able to recognise various other cable-related parts/components.
Have a Steady hand and good eyesight.
Be able to read, follow and understand wiring diagrams, schedules, and drawings; follow written procedures.
Complete handwritten Job Sheets recording time, tools used, and any other customer requested information.
Be prepared to work at the customer’s premises.
Responsibilities:
To build custom and bespoke cable assemblies, wiring looms, harnesses and umbilical’s. Assemble, wire and test products to customers wiring schedules, drawings, samples or procedures. Any other duties consider relevant to the above.
Knowledge of various types of cable termination methods and components, along with any other electronic experience, would be a significant advantage.
Experience:
A good understanding of both electronic and mechanical practices and principals are essential.
