Join a leading critical infrastructure organisation as a Cloud Security Engineer on a 12 month daily rate contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. You’ll work within a growing and highly capable security team, helping uplift AWS cloud security across a complex enterprise environment.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, improving cloud security controls, and working closely with cloud, infrastructure, platform and cyber security teams. Melbourne based, $1000–$1100/day, with Australian/New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
About the role
- Join a well-established critical infrastructure organisation on a 12 month daily rate contract, with a strong likelihood of extension due to ongoing security and cloud uplift work.
- Work as part of a growing cloud security team that is investing heavily in improving security maturity, resilience and capability across complex AWS environments.
- Take ownership of hands-on cloud security engineering across AWS, including the design, implementation and improvement of security controls, guardrails and best-practice patterns.
- Partner closely with cloud, infrastructure, platform, architecture and broader cyber security teams to ensure AWS environments are secure, scalable and aligned to enterprise security standards.
- Support the uplift of cloud security monitoring, logging, alerting and detection capability, helping the organisation identify and respond to cloud-based risks more effectively.
- Contribute to security reviews, risk assessments and remediation activities across AWS workloads, ensuring cloud services are configured securely and aligned to internal policies.
- Work alongside highly capable and passionate security professionals in a collaborative team environment where cloud security is a genuine priority.
About you
- You have at least 5 years’ experience working across AWS security, ideally within enterprise, regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
- You bring strong hands-on experience securing AWS environments, including practical knowledge of IAM, security groups, networking, logging, monitoring and cloud-native security services.
- You are confident designing and implementing AWS security controls that improve visibility, reduce risk and support secure-by-design cloud adoption.
- You have experience working with cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, platform or security engineering teams to embed security into technical delivery.
- You understand common cloud security risks and can help identify, prioritise and remediate misconfigurations, vulnerabilities and control gaps across AWS environments.
- You communicate well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and can explain security risks, recommendations and trade-offs clearly.
- You are Melbourne based, available within approximately two weeks, and hold Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
