Join a nationalĀ professional services firmĀ investing heavily in cyber security and technology uplift. This senior role blends hands-on security engineering, incident response, vulnerability management and project delivery across a broad enterprise environment.
You will work closely with the Head of Security and IT Operations, help strengthen operational maturity, and become a trusted escalation point for internal teams, partners and clients. For the right person, there is scope to progress into cyber operations leadership over time.
About the role
- Work across cyber security operations, incident response, vulnerability management and the ongoing improvement of security technologies and controls.
- Act as a senior escalation point for security incidents, working closely with an outsourced SOC, technology vendors and internal teams.
- Support the implementation and uplift of platforms across SIEM, EDR, email security, privileged access, application control and vulnerability management.
- Provide practical cyber security input into technology projects, including control requirements, implementation checklists and remediation activities.
- Improve operational documentation, processes, reporting and control evidence supporting frameworks such as ISO 27001, Essential Eight, ISM and SOC 2.
- Engage confidently with senior leaders, partners, clients and technical stakeholders, with occasional support required for critical incidents or evening changes.
About you
- You have at least six years of cyber security experience, with strong hands-on depth across security engineering and incident response.
- You can investigate, respond and remediate rather than simply escalating tickets, coordinating vendors or providing high-level architectural advice.
- You have experience across technologies such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, email security, application control and privileged access management.
- You communicate professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and are comfortable engaging senior executives, partners and clients.
- You are an energetic self-starter who improves documentation, formalises processes and takes ownership without needing constant direction.
- You hold a relevant cyber security certification, with CISSP, CISM, CRISC or similar credentials highly regarded. Previous infrastructure or systems engineering experience would also be valuable.
