  • Hands-on platform security leadership role

Join a high-growth Australian business playing a meaningful role in the energy transition. This newly created cyber security leadership role offers genuine ownership across a modern, cloud-led environment spanning Azure, AWS and SaaS platforms.

Reporting to the CISO, you will be hands-on across cloud security, IAM, SIEM, DLP and automation, while partnering with experienced technology leaders to uplift capability. About the role

  • Own key cyber security platforms across cloud and SaaS, with a focus on engineering, uplift and operational maturity.
  • Improve visibility, control effectiveness, detection capability and secure configuration across an Azure-heavy environment.
  • Drive uplift across IAM, SIEM, DLP, vulnerability management and cloud security tooling.
  • Build automation, scripts and repeatable workflows to improve response, remediation and efficiency.
  • Partner with cloud, infrastructure, DevOps and business teams to turn risk into clear actions.
  • Support the growth of a maturing cyber function, with future scope to mentor or lead 1-2 people.

About you

  • Strong hands-on cyber security engineering experience, with a preference for platform ownership over advisory work.
  • Practical Azure and/or AWS security experience across cloud policy, configuration, identity and security tooling.
  • Confidence across IAM, SIEM, DLP and vulnerability management, including tuning, investigation and remediation.
  • Experience using scripting, automation or infrastructure-as-code to solve security challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident, able to work three days per week in Melbourne; Sydney considered for exceptional candidates.
