We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Manager to work at this Gastro Pub venue on the outskirts of York, you would be reporting into the General Manager and leading a strong team including the Restaurant & Bar Supervisors.  Your role would include management of staff and the training and development of new and existing staff at the venue as well as giving first class customer service in the restaurant and in the future to the guests that will be staying in the rooms.  This position offers fantastic progression opportunities and is great opportunity to be part a growing brand within the York area.

The Company – This newly opened Gastro Pub on the outskirts of York, is quickly gaining a reputation of one of the places to eat in the York area, currently they are serving in excess of 600 meals per week and are planning on increasing this by developing their function & events business and the outside eating areas ready for the summer months.  This venue is also opening some tastefully decorated bedrooms in the very near future once the refurbishment is complete.

Role:

• To help control the restaurant operations including breakfast, Lunch & Dinner service
• To promote a hospitable and professional image to guests and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance with prompt, caring & helpful attitude.
• To ensure all service standards are maintained within the restaurant area
• Assist in carrying out staff development and training
• To take an active part in the development of the brand including the functions, events and rooms
• Ensure that company & legal standards for cleanliness are maintained within the restaurant
• Ensure good communication throughout the kitchen department at all times
• Deputise for the General Manager on occasions
• Cash handling both FOH & BOH including following cashing up procedures set by the venue

Requirements:

• Experience as a Restaurant Manager/Assistant Manager in a similar style environment
• 3 years’ experience within the Hospitality industry
• Proven record of staff development and training
• The ability to work independently and resourcefully
• Access to your own transport due to the operating hours and location of the venue

Benefits –As Assistant Manager of this Gastro Pub and Rooms venue you will receive a salary of up to £25,000 plus a share of the tips with the team based on the hours you have worked.  You would be expected to work on average 48 hours a week over 5 days and there is free parking on site as with the location of the venue you would require access to your own transport.  The venue will be closed on Christmas Day giving you a chance to spend the day with your family!
