Job Title – Full Time/Part Time Cook

I am working with a Privately-Owned company based in the heart of the North York Moors that is currently recruiting for a Cook, who will be instructed in preparing and serving food to the specifications set by the owners and the café manager.  The successful cook will have experience working in a similar café environment using fresh food and catering up to 130 people during the day, you would form part of a close team in the café of up to 5 staff members.  The café operates over a 7-day week serving food from 9am through till 5pm and is easily commutable from Whitby, Guisborough or Kirbymoorside.

The Company – The café is privately owned and forms part of a hospitality venue that includes accommodation, shop and activity centre.  Based in the heart of the North York Moors you would need access to your own transport to work but one working you will immediately feel part of a close-knit team.  The venue is in commutable distance from Whitby, Guisborough & Kirbymoorside.

Role:

• To be responsible for the preparation& presentation of all meals at the required times and to the specifications as per the menu, ensuring quantities and portions are correct.
• To assist the management when required with planning menus, rotas, orders and receiving, checking and storing deliveries as requested
• To operate a cost-effective stock rotation system to minimise wastage
• Ensure all relevant kitchen documents are up to date including allergen, temperatures & delivery record sheets
• Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH Requirements
• To assist in organising functions/events & promotions when needed
• To assist the management to monitor the performance of kitchen support staff and provide training and coaching as necessary

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety and COSHH
• Happy to work as part of a team
• Happy to undergo reference checks and DBS checks due to the nature of some of the business on site
• Experience working in a similar café environment with fresh food
• Access to your own transport

Benefits – The role of Cook is offering a competitive rate of pay for up to £10.00 per hour and would consider candidates looking for part-time or permanent opportunities.   The venue is open 7 days a week from 9am through till 5pm and the working hours would be in accordance with the staff rota.
