As a Chef within this venue you will be assisting the Head of Catering with the planning, organising and developing of food and beverage services, alongside been involved in the general day to day catering activities to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen, this role is a genuine temporary to permanent position and you would be required to work 37.5hrs a week. An up to date DBS check will be required for this position.
The Company – Built in 1890 this hospitality venue is in the North Yorkshire National Park within 11 acres of grounds. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced produce for a seasonally changing menu and caters for individuals and groups of all ages.
Role:
- Assist the Head of Catering in planning menus
- Assisting & Monitoring of the quality of the product and service provided
- Provide cover for the Head of Catering in their absence
- Assist in maintaining stock levels
- Ensuring health & safety regulations are strictly observed
- Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the industry such as menus, trends and consumer tastes
Requirements:
- Food Hygiene Level 2 minimum
- DBS check is essential
- Basic NVQ in Catering
- 2 years’ experience in a similar catering environment
- Experience in menu development & costings
- To help train, guide and mentor staff while working in the kitchen.
Benefits – The role of Chef will mean you are required to work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days of varying shifts possibly including splits at a pay rate of £9.50 per hour. Working as a Chef you will have the opportunity to interact with the public & guests on occasions.
