I am actively recruiting for Yard Operative with an industry standard FLT Counterbalance License for a well renowned business in Scarborough, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe loading/unloading of deliveries and ensuring stock levels are monitored and maintained in order to support production. Additional responsibilities include accurate re3cord keeping & general factory housekeeping.
The Company – As successful locally owned steel manufacturing business, bases in the Eastfield area of Scarborough
Role:
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and be responsible for their own safety and that of their colleagues
- Loading and unloading of deliveries/internal material movements are carried out in a safe and efficient manner following company operating procedures
- Accurately review and complete delivery/dispatch notes and ensure all documentation is archived appropriately
- Adhere to company quality standards, reporting any non-conformance in relation to inbound/outbound deliveries in a timely manner
- Ensure that yard/transport are of the facility is optimised in order to ensure smooth flow of inbound * outbound deliveries
- Proactively ensure that expected housekeeping standards at the company production facility, both internal & external are met
- Report accurately all non-productive periods within the yard/transport operation
- To assist in stock checks and ensure Kanban’s are at correct level
- Ensure that all documentation/record keeping is completed promptly. Accurately and archived correctly to ensure accurate records are immediately available to the company management team and customers
- To perform daily checks on MHE and report any defects/issues to the management team
Requirements:
- Conversant with the safe use of various mechanical handling equipment
- Ability to multi-task
- Awareness of health & safety best practice in the workplace
- High levels of attention to detail
- Good levels of mobility, dexterity & physical fitness
- Counterbalance FLT License
Benefits – The role of Yard Operative/FLT is offering a pay of £8.72 per hour working Monday-Friday on a 6.00am – 2.00pm shift pattern although you may need to be flexible if needed to fulfil work on a back shift. After 12 weeks work through Castle your pay will increase to £9.50 and then after the 6 month probation period with the company your pay will rise to £10.30. There is also the chance to earn shift premiums in due course.
