I am actively recruiting for a Night Porter to join the team at a well-known hotel in the Scarborough area.  The successful applicant will be pro-active in completing tasks that are set out through the night, able to converse with customers checking in and out of the venue out of hours, on occasions prepare the meeting and events rooms for guests the following day and also complete cleaning schedules for the hotels restaurant and bar areas.

The Company – This privately owned Hospitality venue is located on the outskirts of Scarborough and has a small number of bedrooms, large restaurant and bar area along with a good-sized events room.  The venue is located out of Scarborough centre so ideally you would need your own transport, but you could make use of public transport.

Role:

• In conjunction with the Housekeeping Manager ensure all cleaning lists and tasks are completed nightly
• Ensure the security of the venue is monitored through the evening
• Make sure all the guests need are met through the night including wake up calls if needed
• Take an active role in all training and development programs
• Comply with all Health & Safety and COSHH Requirements
• Ensure all operational area are properly prepared for each daily service
• Make sure all issues and incidents are reported to the Duty Manager
• Use of the booking system when needed to update accounts
• Setting up of events and breakfast service when requested by management
• Any other reasonable requirements issued by the Management team

Requirements:

• Knowledge of, Health & Safety and COSHH
• A good knowledge of using Microsoft Excel, Word and understanding of booking systems
• Previous Night Porter experience is an advantage but not essential
• Access to your own transport due to location of the venue
