Salary: USD22 - USD28 per hour

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Expeditor for our client in Pleasanton. This is a 100% onsite position, temp to perm position with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and a starting pay of $22-$27 an hour based on experience.

Our client is a leading supplier of Engineering & Manufacturing services. We design and

manufacture custom control panels, power distribution products and various other electro-mechanical

assemblies. We purchase electrical, electronic, and custom materials for a wide range of industries and

customers.

Position Overview

The role of the Expeditor is to ensure we are getting the raw material we need to Manufacture when needed

and if not expedite with our suppliers to improve delivery. The Expeditor plays an instrumental role in

making certain we are able to produce and deliver products to our customers as they are needed.

Qualifications

 Microsoft Excel experience is a must

 Ability to be firm yet professional when dealing with suppliers

o This position requires the ability to know when the situation requires persistence, persuasion, and or

escalation to achieve company objectives.

 Impeccable attention to detail

 Accuracy of record keeping and data entry

 Flexibility – ability to quickly change priorities throughout the day

 Ability to multitask

 Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English

 A bullet proof system for remembering

Job Responsibilities

1. Follow Up

 Run Back Order Reports and Late & Missing Reports daily

 Follow up with suppliers via email and/or phone on any late or unconfirmed orders

 Enter material delivery dates in our ERP system

2. Expediting

 Any material confirmed outside of standard lead time, peg to the production schedule to see if it needs

expediting

 Follow escalation process for expediting material

3. Continuity of Supply

 Based on lead time volatility, make distributor stock suggestions to Director of Supply Chain Operations

 Run Work Ticket Expedite Reports for next 6 weeks of product due dates ensure material will still arrive in

time to allow to be successful in hitting commitments to our customers

o Run Work Ticket Expedite Reports for further than 6 weeks out when time permits

o Floating inventory so will need to peg gating items to Production Schedule

4. Education and Training

 Training on Buyer responsibilities as a back-up

 Gain solid understanding of the material we buy

 Learn to read & analyze custom material drawings to determine the outside processes required.

5. Reporting and Communication

 Receive and respond to material status inquiries and/or expedite requests from the Manufacturing Planner

o Requires keeping the Manufacturing Planner updated on urgent parts and delivery or sending

expedite reports as requested

 Send any price questions or discrepancies to Director of Supply Chain Operations

 Any material not being delivered 2+ weeks prior to ship date, work with the Manufacturing Planner

to assign a “Drop Dead Date” to be used as an expediting target in order for to stay on schedule

 Communicate obsolescence and suggested replacement information to the Senior Buyer

 Create Shortage Reports for specific projects
