My client is currently developing a new-generation single-turbine helicopter, delivering high performance and offering the largest cabin in its class.
It is looking for:

Role: Configuration Manager Engineer Experimental Helicopter
Pay: To be defined on the basis of experience
Location: Zurich - Switzerland
Contract: Contractor, 6 months

Main Responsibilities

  • Defining and maintaining the product structure including options and variants, for prototype and series A/C
  • Managing product changes via change process, conducting change review boards
  • Ensuring configuration and change reports availability as necessary


Tasks:
The Configuration Management Engineer:

  • develops, creates, controls and maintains the product structure including options and variants.
  • manages the drawing structure and the effectivity of configuration items
  • acts as change owner of changes to the product structure, verifying the consistency of the proposed changes and ensuring the correct distribution of information
  • prepares change request overviews and configuration reports for authorities and/or internal departments
  • conducts change review boards and change implementation boards when necessary
  • interfaces with production organization and other departments to support configuration conformity
  • develops, conducts and supports internal training in configuration and change management
  • evaluates, proposes and prepares continuous improvements of tools, methods and guidelines in the CM area

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Change management, Configuration management or Product configuration/Identification
  • Experienced in using ERP and PLM tools (SAP, TeamCenter would be an asset) basic knowledge of CAD tools (Siemens NX would be an asset)
  • Previous experience in aerospace engineering and knowledge of EASA Part 21 would be an asset
