If you are a problem-solving and proactive individual with a desire to learn and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you!  Birmingham 2022 is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to assist the Games Family Services (GFS) Volunteer Manager with the recruitment, selection, training, and engagement of the GFS Volunteer Workforce.

The Volunteer Coordinator will provide all round project and administration support to the GFS Volunteer team. The role will involve a mix of coordinating a range of identified projects and tasks as well as more generic administration functions in support of the wider team. Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Volunteer Coordinator position are to support the Volunteer Manager with planning, coordination, and delivery of the following:

  • Assist with the design and implementation of role specific training for GFS volunteers.
  • Assist with the administration of the role specific training component to around 900 GFS volunteers.
  • Work with the Organising Committee’s Games Workforce department to implement the reward and recognition programme for GFS volunteers.
  • Assist with the assigning, scheduling, and rostering of all GFS volunteers.
  • To assist with the planning, organising and management of volunteers for the Chefs de Mission Seminar in January 2022.
  • Develop cooperative and positive relationships with key FAs to ensure that the GFS volunteers’ recruitment and deployment is effectively and efficiently conducted.
  • Coordinate volunteer training materials to ensure that they are produced in line within agreed project timescales set by Games Workforce.
  • Assist with the management and coordination of GFS volunteers in the lead up to and during Games time operations.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in similar roles.
  • Experience assisting programmes/projects or tasks.
  • Experience of contributing to or an understanding of the principles of designing, delivering and evaluating training.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with proven administrative and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with and support a diverse range and level of colleagues, staff and candidates.

Salary: Circa £20,000 per annum

Start date: September 2021

End date: August 2022
